Dr Balraj Dhesi is an experienced consultant radiologist based at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, seeing private patients at The Harborne Hospital, The Priory Hospital, Spire Parkway Hospital, and Spire Little Aston Hospital. Specialising in uroradiology, colorectal, and peritoneal imaging, Dr Dhesi provides advanced medical imaging services, including image-guided biopsies and drains.
Dr Dhesi completed his medical degree with honours from the University of Birmingham in 2011. He later completed foundation jobs and radiology training in the West Midlands, gaining expertise in abdominal radiology. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists.
He performs transperineal prostate biopsies under local anaesthetic (LATP), recently co-organising a course to train other healthcare professionals in the technique with the British Society of Urogenital Radiology.
As the current Royal College of Radiologists college tutor at University Hospitals Birmingham and uroradiology lead at the West Midlands Deanery Radiology Academy, Dr Dhesi is actively involved in training and education within the medical community.
In addition to his clinical roles, Dr Dhesi holds honorary positions as a clinical tutor at the University of Birmingham and a specialist lecturer at Birmingham City University. He also serves as the treasurer of the British Society of Urogenital Radiology.
