Dr Anirban De qualified in India (MBBS). He completed his basic surgical training in North Wales and obtained the MRCS. He has a postgraduate certificate from Cardiff. He completed his radiology training at University Hospitals of Leicester, obtaining the FRCR. Following this, he completed a fellowship in abdominal and body imaging at McMaster University in Canada.
Dr De started his consultant radiologist role in 2012 and is currently a consultant at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. He is a diagnostic radiologist with a specialist interest in abdominal imaging, particularly CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy related to genitourinary (kidneys, ureter, bladder, prostate) and gastrointestinal (bowel) conditions, including cancers. He has extensive experience and expertise in these areas and has a particular interest in MRI of the prostate and rectum and CT colonography.
Dr De is heavily involved in radiology teaching and training and gives regional, national, and international lectures. He has recently been appointed as an examiner for the FRCR by the Royal College of Radiologists.
